What a lovely review! In these tough times, I crave cappuccino, limocello, and laughter, not necessarily in that order. And Faaaaabio - one of many impossibly gorgeous Italians who made my heart valves slam shut. My Modena is available on Amazon and at Barnes & Noble - and most amazing of all, you can get a copy in the City of Modena Office of Tourism - steps away from the Duomo where Pavarotti sang in the choir. I'll meet you there!

Adding this one to my TBR list, for sure! The humor over the daily challenges during the sabbatical year remind me of some of my own (in Sicily). Thanks for your detailed description and quoting so many great lines from the memoir!

A beautiful review! It brought me to when I first read Andrea’s book, and returned me today to Modena. It’s great to go to Italy. I’ve been there many times, to the four famous cities and a little mountain town. Italy is quirky. Andrea threw it all into the pot with humor and humility. Thank you, Etta, for reminding me what it was like. Thanks, Andrea. You made me want to pack my bags!!
